soon this will all be
a memory
and you'll wonder
while washing old lipstick
off your shirts and your
lungs my friend my
love you'll wonder
if there had ever been
any other option
so
just to save you sleepless
nights
and remorse
let me answer that one
no
and thank you.

the problem is with the programs that are running in the background.
We have little or no idea what they are.
although i don't eat meat i can understand the slaughter of animals for food but this is something beyond comprehension. utterly sick and totally uneccessary.
I agree, Inc. Unless one is prepared to dedicate one's life to effective and meaningful protest, little can really be done to change things; and even then, I feel, it is usually very limited, slow-going. There are wonderful exceptions, though; and I admire those that have the gumption to do things. I've know some, and I think it is a hard life. It's deeply unfashionable, too. But if no-one had ever stood up to be counted, we'd have nothing. We'd live in a world of utter shite.
As I said elsewhere on here, I think one has to ask oneself what kind of world one wants to live in, and then start from that standpoint; one of idealism. Looking at the world practically leads too often to resignation and fatalism: no point doing stuff, it'll not be worth it.
Of course, being idealistic never gets you anything you can eat. It even gets in the way - of, say, promotion in a job, perhaps. I am daft enough to want to keep my dignity though - come what may. I will always cut off my nose to spite my face if the alternative is any form of bumb-licking or nodding when I do not agree. It's a form of decadence, though, to be able to opt for that.
Issues are thorny. But what alternative is there but to face that fact and grab hold?
